I love sausage and pepper as a sandwich or on top of pasta. I like using our Puttanesca sauce because the Kalamata olives and capers add a little extra flavor to the dish.
1 jar (16 oz) Cucina Fresca Puttanesca Sauce
12-16 oz Italian sausage
1 each red, yellow and orange bell pepper
1 large italian roll (if making sandwiches)
Clean and slice bell peppers.
Saute whole sausage in pan on medium heat. Let the fat from the sausage render into the pan. Cook sausage all the way through, remove from pan. Add peppers to pan, saute until soft, about 10 minutes. While peppers are cooking slice sausage into rounds. Add back into pan when peppers are cooked. Add jar of Puttanesca sauce to pan. Cook until sauce is hot.
If making sandwiches, slice roll add sausage and peppers.
